Requirements to be a TVDE driver in Portugal
Before taking your exam, make sure you meet all the legal requirements set by the Portuguese government (IMT) to operate as a partner driver for platforms like Uber, Bolt, and FreeNow.

How many mistakes are allowed in the real exam?
The official TVDE exam consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you must answer at least 27 questions correctly. This means you are only allowed a maximum of 3 mistakes.
Can I take the TVDE exam in English?
The official IMT exam is typically conducted in Portuguese. However, some centers may offer translation assistance depending on the regulations. Our simulator is currently provided in English to help expats understand the concepts clearly.
How long does the certificate last?
Once you pass the exam and receive your TVDE driver certificate (CMTVDE), it is valid for 5 years. After this period, you will need to take a renewal course (8 hours) to extend it.
